About Us (Me!)

Dr Andrew Wu is a registered osteopath practising in Mount Waverley, Melbourne, providing evidence-based treatment for pain, injury, and rehabilitation. His approach combines hands on therapy with clear education and tailored rehabilitation to support long term recovery and performance.

Andrew has always been deeply involved in sport and movement. From a young age, he was extremely active, and that passion has remained a constant throughout his life. Beginning martial arts at around five years old, he trained in disciplines including kickboxing and Brazilian jiu jitsu. He also played tennis for many years and competed in state athletics in events such as the 100m, 200m, long jump, and triple jump.

Beyond traditional sports, Andrew developed a strong interest in urban movement disciplines such as tricking and parkour, where strength, coordination, and creativity come together through acrobatics and dynamic movement. Today, that passion for movement continues through his commitment to futsal with Swift FC Melbourne and through helping others move better and stay active.

Why Osteopathy?

Andrew’s interest in healthcare began long before he understood what osteopathy was. His father is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, and as a young child, Andrew would occasionally wander into his father’s clinic while patients were being treated.

One day, he asked what his father was doing. A patient turned to him and replied, “He’s taking my pain away.”
Curious, Andrew asked how that was possible. The answer was simple: “With his hands.”

That moment left a lasting impression. The idea that skilled hands, knowledge, and care could relieve pain and improve someone’s quality of life felt extraordinary. From that point on, Andrew knew he wanted to pursue a career that allowed him to help people in the same way.

Purpose and Approach

As he grew older, Andrew’s passion for sport naturally led him toward healthcare. He wanted to work in a field that was hands on, holistic, educational, and preventative. When he discovered osteopathy, he realised it brought all of these elements together, and it quickly became clear that this was the profession he was meant to pursue.

Andrew is passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and regain confidence in their bodies. His approach focuses not only on easing pain, but also on helping patients understand what they are experiencing, reducing fear, and guiding them through rehabilitation so they can build long term strength and resilience.

Education plays a central role in his practice. He believes patients should understand their condition, their treatment, and their recovery, and he values building long lasting relationships with the people who trust him with their care.

More Than a Job

For Andrew, osteopathy is more than a career. It is something he genuinely cares about and feels grateful to practice every day. He considers it a privilege to support patients through recovery and to be part of their journey toward better health and performance.
